Since childhood Madelyn has been drawing, designing and expressing her creativity. This need to express her creativity lead to her career as a graphic designer.
As a way to honor friends, the memory her grandmother and other loved ones Madelyn participated in her first 3-Day event in 2007. The experience was unbelieveable and she was hooked.
In 2008, Madelyn took on the challenge of walking in the Dallas/Fort Worth Breast Cancer 3-Day. With the color PINK running through her veins she could not resist the opportunity to create breast cancer awareness designs. These designs have been applied to buttons, t-shirts, mouse pads, mugs, and much more.
Madelyn continues to participate in the DFW Komen 3 Day for the Cure as part of the all-volunteer crew. In 2010, she is excited to be part of the lunch crew.
A constant thinker, Gail is always on the look out for our next button idea. She has been the inspiration to some of our most popluar button designs.
Gail's involvement with the Breast Cancer 3-Day started in 2007, when she and Madelyn were part of the DFW Breast Cancer 3-Day all-volunteer crew. She has continued to crew each year since in memory of her mother, her aunt and to honor her many friends who are survivors.
About Buttons for the Cure:
What started as an decoration for a team fundraising event has grown ten-fold. Our buttons are now helping teams across the country fundraise for the Breast Cancer 3-Day, Komen Race for the Cure and Avon Breast Cancer Walk. The buttons have even traveled to Japan for a US Air Force base sponsered breast cancer run/walk.
